New Yorkers are accustomed to tight quarters and the weekly trip to their building's laundry room or the laundromat around the corner. Many pre-war buildings and rental properties tend to skip on luxury amenities like the washer/dryer.
Recently, one of my clients mentioned a new portable washer/dryer combination that sounds like the perfect solution for those small New York apartments. After researching online I found many websites that offer these standalone, ventless units priced between $700-$1400. Although the price is a little steep, the benefits of having your Sunday's free of laundry duty is worth the investment.
These combination units come with a set of casters and faucet adapters so you can easily connect it to your kitchen sink. Switch it on and you're ready to go. Of course there are pros and cons to these portable units and I found a great video on Living Direct that was especially helpful in explaining how the units work and what to expecct.
If you or anyone you know has had an experience with one of these units in New York City, please contact me and let me know what you think.
