SEA: The Thai Experience

SEA is a well-established modern Thai restaurant with two prime locations, one in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and its sister in Meatpacking District. It is also part of a larger branch of restaurants that include Peep, Spice, Moon Room Lounge, and EAT. 

Known for “The Thai Experience,” SEA fuses classic Thai cuisine with American cuisine in a way that its predecessors haven’t done before. Their highly styled location in Williamsburg was awarded for best design by TimeOut magazine and has been serving up reasonably priced Thai food since 2002. It has also been the setting of scenes filmed for the popular show “Sex in the City” and the movie, “Garden State.” 

SEA’s second location in the Meatpacking District, conveniently located just below the High Line, is loaded with food and fun. It features three floors, two dining areas, a main bar, a private room, and an exclusive lounge, called the Moon Room. Their menu reflects the essence of Thai cuisine served with indulgent Thai spices and fresh ingredients and plated with a modern twist to its traditional Thai roots. The bar features exotic cocktails made with lychee, ginger and passion fruit.

Room Service, located in Clinton (formally known as Hell’s Kitchen), is a bistro style Thai restaurant with an impeccably decorated dining room, combining styling’s from the jazz era with a sprinkling of contemporary. And the chandeliers are show stoppers! Seating is in pairs and the vibe of the restaurant reflects a fun, chill-atmosphere. Prices are between $16-$25 and in line with the neighborhood prices for a delicious Thai lunch or dinner. There is a full bar and a long list of hotel-themed martinis.

The restaurateurs who own SEA also created Peep, situated downtown in Soho. Peep serves up fresh Thai cuisine and it is ideal for any get-together for lunch, brunch, or dinner. This trendy Thai restaurant serves up affordably priced food and great cocktails. Get a glimpse of your food being prepared with its open style kitchen and get a glimpse of yourself in its mirrored ceilings! Just don’t forget to visit the restroom before leaving; it’s quite an experience to remember.

Qi is a upscale Williamsburg restaurant that you will not want to miss. This sophisticated restaurant reflects the exquisite blend of classic and modern flavors from renowned chef- Pichet Ong. The menu is very modern and inventive, offering refreshing twists on classic dishes such as Qi Pad Thai and Bangkok Chicken Pumpkin Curry. The stylish bar offers a list of red wines, white wines, champagne, sangria, cold sake, and a wide range of local Thai beers. The interior features a large chic space accented by intricate wood detailing that creates an inviting place to dine.
